With the aim of improving the nutritional levels of school children in the country, the Ministry of Health and Mass Media and the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education have jointly introduced a set of guidelines for school canteens.
This program, titled “Guidelines for Healthy School Canteens,” has been implemented in conjunction with National Nutrition Month 2026.
Authorities say these guidelines have been introduced with the aim of establishing and maintaining student-friendly cafeterias to ensure that the food served to children through school cafeterias is nutritious, healthy and affordable.
